1. Time per Item (Shopping Speed)
Check your average seconds per item in the Instacart app. Fast shoppers average 55–65 seconds per item. A 40-item order means 40 minutes of in-store navigation alone.
2. The Checkout Buffer
Always add 8 to 12 minutes to every order for waiting at the cashier, bagging items carefully, and loading carts into your trunk.
3. Driving Time & Deadhead
Estimate 2.5 minutes per delivery mile in suburban traffic. If the customer is 8 miles away from the shopping center, you must also calculate the 8 miles back.
4. Vehicle Expenses
